So this is more to motivate myself to establish a new musical identity. I’m shooting for 50 songs again in 5 albums, with 10 songs per album. I’m doing the same thing with the album titles I did for crndlsm and ellís Luiz, with 36 letters and their first letters adding up to 50 in alphanumeric order, only this time they’re all food related because I’m Jiminy Cranberry. So I’m starting with the cover songs I made over the years while I figure out how to incorporate ALL of my instruments throughout the series. Please enjoy these rough drafts while I organize my thoughts.
Okay the first Jiminy Cranberry album will be covers. I just ordered a special recording device so hopefully I can do this cleaner by myself. This second one is Alanis Morissette, I don’t have permission for most of these covers so I’ll find out soon enough if I have to remove them from existence.
One person commented – “This is either avant garde or terrible and I can’t tell which.”
That time I went insane and learned Spanish working in a kitchen. If you listen to this tune, go find the original version, then come back to this one, I’m still insane.
Some people love it, some people hate it, royally messed up the bass on this one either way. This is what I mean playing blind. Adding an extra beat before the chorus throws off everyone, I mean all the me’s. Even something that seems simple is challenging. This is hard work… I’ve got 5 weeks to get my act together.
Change the chords, change the tempo and time signature, you can still tell its the same Ole song.
I still haven’t touched my new recording device, here’s another that sounds nothing like the original.
I’ve always kinda hated country music, maybe cause I grew up with it. And maybe cause most mainstream country is about conformity, but Clint black is from Houston and he had some clever songs, this is one of the earliest songs I remember liking as a kid.
This one I tried too many times and couldn’t line up more than just guitar drums and vocals and even that was barely, this song was when I buckled down and bought a recorder, which I’ve tested and used a few times now. Waiting til the last minute I guess to solidify my plan.
